HI Guys and Gals,
Just a couple of things. This is fire prevention/fire awareness month. We
encourage you to check and replace your smoke alarm/ carbon monoxide alarm
batteries. Also the end of the month, last weekend of the month, we go back
to MST. So don't forget to make plans to change those clocks.
Secondly we have CERT training starting at the end of the month. October 26
to be exact, at 7:00 PM, located at Windsor Fire. Parking is in the rear.
Windsor fire, for those who do not know, is located at 100 N 7th, Windsor.
If you plan to attend, let either Chet, KC0DSJ or myself know so we can have
adequate supplies on hand for the group. This is open to the public, so if
you know someone else who is interested, let us know.
Thirdly, its unfortunate that we have not heard back from Richard, K0RAW,
and we are still encouraging anyone with knowledge of what happened to him
or with avenues to contact him to ask him to get in touch with me. The state
EC attempted contact and finally opted to make a new appointment for EC. I
was appointed initially as the Exec/Administrative AEC and have now been
installed as EC for D-10. I hope to work with you all and take the district
in a positive direction. If you have input, I welcome that. If you have
criticisms I welcome them, with the condition that you have a workable
solution, that accommodates the greatest number of other members. I am easy
to contact generally. If I do not answer the phone, I will get back to you,
so please leave a short detailed message. I think Maw-bell give you 30 on my
voice mail. That number is 970-266-1120 or my email is on_tract at netzero.com
If you see an area you or that you feel others may benefit from training in,
that we can do on air or in a workshop, let me or one of the other AEC's
know! We want to have a first rate group, and will all of you helping us get
there, we will make that goal!
We still need Net Controllers for the next Quarter, which started with the
net last night. Contact Mike, W0MBH @ W0MBH at hotmail.com I am sure he can
help you get the training you need or just get you on the schedule if that's
where your current qualifications take you. Please do cooperate with him as
we have implemented some additional training in the hopes of having the best
operational nets possible.
Lastly thanks to all who helped out and cooperated in keeping things going.
It's nice to know that when I leave town, that I leave the district in such
qualified hands and know that the troops will support them. I know you
support the local ARES group all the time now and even that seems to be
growing. This is after all OUR ARES organization, and each one of you is
important to making it all it can be! Thanks!
73 and hope to hear you on the air and participating where we need you!
Randy, W0AVV
