HI Guys and Gals,
We need your input. Some have already voiced a need for training workshops
on some digital modes. Pactor, etc... Packet... how to set up and use both
of these is important to our group. I would appreciate a mail in vote or
voicing of what you feel we need to insure we get things done to bring your
skills up to where they belong.
I urge you to check your back up power sources and Go Bags. Make sure they
are ready to go at a moments notice. This is going to be more like a real
winter from general indications. We may see periods that we have no grid,
but yet are expected to provide communications. Keep those batteries charged
and equipment maintained and ready. Keep fuel tanks in your vehicles topped
off where possible and stand ready! As you know there is no way to predict
emergencies, otherwise they wouldn't be emergencies...We ask that you just
stay ready!
Do you have a current ID. One that is within its expiration date? Does it
expire soon? When? I need to know so we can make appropriate accomodations.
We are planning a Face to Face meeting... Some general housekeeping so far
as registrations are anticipated to be accomplished at that meeting. We also
plan a training to be a part of that event. Stay tuned to the net on
Wednesday evening and this reflector to stay up to day and make plans
accordingly.
Thanks for those who are so faithful to be on the net weekly. Thanks to all
who stand ready to provide communications when we are called upon to do so.
If you have questions as to where to find the training pages for ARESCO...
it has moved... www.coloradoares.com
First weekend of December is Skywarn Appreciation. The event is advertised
under current events at our website page as well as the state website
page... Let us know if you intend to participate, so we can get you on the
list and get you the access you will need. NWS Boulder is a secure facility
and requires pre-clearance to get on board.
Thanks all and look forward to responses to this email or any other
questions you may have.
73,
Randy, W0AVV
