[CoARES-D10] 145.115 Repeater and Next Week's Training

Hi all,

Just a couple of quick notes for those who are interested/involved:

1) The 145.115 repeater coverage in South-east Longmont is extremely
marginal with the new setup. Where I was able to hit it with 5 watts
fairly reliably when it was at the old site, I now (barely) hear it at
about an S-1 and cannot hit it even with a 50 watt mobile. The only
reason I note this is so that folks will be aware of this in the event
of an emergency where communications outside of Weld/Jackson/Larimer are
needed. This unfortunately makes it impossible for some of us down here
who would like to be active in D-10 to communicate on the ARES net.

2) Since I was not able to check in to the net tonight, but was able to
hear it, I thought I would note that I do have IM and email capabilities
at all times and can listen to the repeater while on the computer. So,
if I could get as many emails and IM addresses as possible, I would like
to be involved in the training next week as much as I can without being
able to get on the air. Maybe I could serve as a relay station and pass
messages via email or IM to other stations participating. This goes the
same with any emergency communications.
