Here is a list of the remaining other severe weather classes other than the
one being offered by D-10.
Ours again is on May 1, 2004. Planned hours are from 9-5 . Ours is located
at the Weld county service center. That is about 3./8 s of a mile north of
HWY 119 on the east frontage road. (that's next to I-25) There is a pond in
front of the service center and a road that runs on the sound side of the
pond and the building. Go to the end of the pavement (aprox 1/4 mile) and
turn north into the lot. Building kind of looks like guard tower for a
prison ;)
Cost for the D-10 class is $20.00. Includes Lunch, (pizza, soft drinks,
coffee and bottled water) the manual and of course the instruction.
Our instructors will be Bob Glancy KC0NNS from the NWS forecast office,
Brent Shaw KB0URX (works down the hall from Bob) and of course our own cast
of folks to bring the radio aspect to things.
We MUST KNOW if you plan to attend ours by 4/28/04. Contact Randy, W0AVV @
[email protected] or on the air for reservations. This allows us to get the food
ordered and get enough manuals printed.
If you can not attend our class this year we strongly encourage you to
participate in one offered by NWS. For spotters in D-10 we STRONGLY
ENCOURAGE you to attend every year or at least every other year to stay
current. Terms and requests from NWS change almost yearly and its our desire
to provide the very BEST service to them as one of our served agencies.
Below is the list of other classes still offered by NWS this season.
Thanks,
Randy, W0AVV
