Hi Guys and Gals,
Introducing D10's HF net!!!! D-10 has been the leader in the past and it
would seem yet again, we are with new things!
Our purpose is to expand the capabilities of our district to our served
agencies! At the same time we want to expand your technical abilities
before we need to employ them!
The net will start off for at least the first few weeks being SSB only. Then
we plan to explore the wonderful world of digital modes! PSK31, MFSK16,
RTTY, and more. At some point we intend to have CW nets as well. Don't be
intimidated by the CW... I promise if I have anything to do with it, it will
certainly start off slow! <grin> HF is an important resource we can offer
our served agencies, but we would like to see the skill level, especially
with portable operations expanded significantly! We currently have a number
of Op's that have the capability, but our intention is to polish the skills
and the operations in the HF spectrums.
We have plans to have special training workshops and exercises at potential
deployment sites. Using both digital and voice communications. Great
opportunities for training and at the same time good jumping off points for
you to take off and have excursions with your families ( from some of our
potential deployment sites)!!!
Additionally we would like to encourage the use of NVIS antennas! Pat,
W0IPL has some good info on his site and there are a couple of good
discussion groups available on the web that deal with NVIS operations.
One is the emergency communications forum on E-ham ,
http://www.eham.net/forums/EmergencyCommunications/1245?ehamsid=d41f521234c8
da258345c5533d5ea5e3
and the other is on Yahoo groups. The one on yahoo is not listed on the
normal listings but can be found at <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NVIS/>

See ya all there!
