[Cliffdwellers] attic antennas

I lived in Oklahoma in a one story wood frame house. I was able
to run just a simple dipole from one end of the attic to the other
on 15 meters. I later extended it to 20 meters by bending the ends
down.

It worked out quite well. Points noted:

You can mess with the ends a lot, bending them here and there to make
them fit, the center should be as high and clear as possible, about
two feet off the house wiring in my case

A balun really helped keep the RFI out of the house wiring, I was
running 50-70 watts.

The ends of such an antenna have a lot of RF voltage on them and
need to be clear of flamables and insulated well.

Only a layer of wood and shingles was above the antenna in this
case, even inside as high and clear as possible still works

The antenna was cut to resonance without a tuner, but it was WAY
off the calculated length due to proximity effects.
