The AB-144 was designed to convert 2M transceivers (on receive only) to listen to the HF bands. It has nothing to do with 6 meters. DC input anywhere from 9 to 15 volts will make it work. If you accidently key your 2 meter transceiver, especially in the FM mode position, with the AB-144 connected, you will kill it.
