Hello All!

Doing a restoration of a 200-V S# E1604. Took it all apart few years ago...now putting it back together with all new electrolytics, etc and had a few questions. (should have paid a bit more attention when I took it apart!)

I have replaced the VFO bearings/spring and is now smooth. Wondering about the small copper colored backlash bushing that fits in the shaft end closest to the lead screw. I did not pay enough attention when I took it apart....which way does it go in? I have a spring washer that I believe goes in first, then the bushing which is held in by two outer clips that poke through the shaft. The bushing itself is not symmetric; deeper hole before the threads on side compared to the other. I am thinking it should go in one way or the other? Found some images on the web but not clear enough to decide. Maybe it does not matter or ?

The rubber disk (sandwiched between two flat washers) that moves the plastic frequency alignment bezel back and forth (through front panel screw adjust) had disintegrated. Any comments about the best method to repair? Thought about getting a small piece of rubber sheet and simply cut a circle and put it back together.

Anybody have a spare 47.7 Mhz XTAL for 10 meter operation?

I am looking forward to getting on the air with this thing. I have a 100V that I use with an R390A RX. Did the restoration on that one years ago. I thought about taking it apart to look at the VFO but figured I would ask before I go too far with that.

Thanks!

Colin, VE7TNT
