[Central-Electronics] 100V and 200V differences?

In addition to what has already been said.
I have both the 100V and 200V....and painstakingly restored both. Caps, tubes, bearings, resistors, etc, etc.....a big job.
Also have slightly different tube lineups. Mixer improvements, Xtal osc changes, adjustable bias. The 200V is definitely not as sensitive to tube variations (mixers). Spectral output is cleaner with the 200V (mixer cctry) when both are adjusted correctly.
The biggest thing I noticed during my restorations is that the 200V I have is noticeably cleaner (wiring, soldering) with a somewhat improved layout underneath. That probably was the result of an improved production process as time went on. I really noticed this when I had them both on the bench at the same time, side by side. My 200V is S# E 1064
My 100V, for some reason (unlucky), has never been as reliable as my 200V but I guess it is a few years older! Even caught on fire one evening operating CW! (major repair) The biggest issue I had, which was hard to track down on the 100V, was a temperature related VFO frequency jump.....a ceramic disk bypass cap in the VFO that was never soldered since day one. The lead was wrapped on the ground post but not soldered...it was hard to find! Immediate fix. Rock stable now!
When I have to downsize in a few years I will part with the 100V but I will keep the 200V. Enjoy both of them on CW paired with an R390A RX. No real operational difference between the two. Fantastic rigs.
Cheers
Colin

Same basic rig … with minor differences;
The 200V uses SS rectifiers; the 100V tubes.
The 200V has a nicer, smoother 2-speed VFO drive
The 100V includes two function lever switches to select voice or carrier cal signal; line voltage; watts input; amps. There were deleted in the 200V. None of these functions are particularly useful. (i.e., you won’t miss them).
I would choose the rig with the nicer cosmetics! It can get expensive refinishing the front panel and/or cabinet.
