Perhaps the 100V was simply angry that I hadn’t used it for a while and decided to teach me a lesson about not taking old gear out for a walk from time to time.
This morning, I can’t get it to fail. AND — it once again has full output on 10M. I guess all of the unplugging and plugging and sprucing of plugin pins and switch contacts, etc. has at least for now resolved the problem. Things that fix themselves make me nervous, but I won’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
I am going to go ahead and reheat the solder joints around the driver tube socket just in case. And also add a separate direct audio cable from the mic inputs to the mic preamp stage per the suggestion in the 4/2011 ER, and a blocking cap between the V7 plate and the phase shift network as has also been suggested. If it’s still working at that point, it’s buttoned up and back on the air ….

Just recall that if the driver tube is non functional there will be no output anywhere, including 15m - that's why I thought the driver module might be the culprit - it's used on all bands. Please let me know what you find - these troubleshooting exercises are always educational.
