Gordon:
I haven't been following this thread, so I don't know what you've tried
yet. Separately, I've sent you a schematic of just the scope portion of the
transmitter (actually, the 200V scope circuit, but it should be the same in
you're 100V). This schematic is part (page 19) of my dissected 200V
schematic set available on my website:

What you should have on your horizontal plates is a demodulated 8Mc
signal. If you have a regular bench scope, trace the 8Mc signal from the 8Mc amp
plate through phono jack/plug feeding the xmtr's scope assembly and on
through to pins 3 and 8 on the xmtr's CRT. You should find your problem in
short order.

I received the Correct CRT tube today.
I installed it in great anticipation, but when I turned the radio on and
it warmed up, The Vertical Line is still there :-(
I noticed that V21 is an 8mc Amp, So should I be seeing a 8Mc signal on
Pin 9 of that tube?
I notice the Focus control works, the Intensity works but the width
doesn't seem to do much .
I am baffled !

you talk" so are you only testing it in a voice mode like AM or SSB? What
do you see if you test it in CW mode? If SSB mode, have you nulled the
carrier, as you adjust the null controls you should see the vertical trace
reduce in size until it becomes a pinprick in the center of the scope.

my main BA transmitter paired with my 75A-4. I use the 200V far more than
my KWS-1, especially since I added the 160m mod to the 200V. That's where
the KWS-1 really falls down, no 160m although the 75A-4 has 160m. What was
Collins thinking?
