I am trying to finish out my 100V. I want to THANK everyone that has
helped me on my journey.
I took a curb side rig, set out for the trash and have restored it. I am
very proud of it.
I am doing the carrier Null/Balance procedure.
I have followed the manual to the letter, yet I see very little, if any
change when I adjust the AF Ratio and AF Balance.
It is almost as if something else compensatesevery time I change either
of those two adjustments.. Especially the AF Balance.
I have looked at it on my scope and I have listened to it in another
receiver. I hear NO Carrier at all on either sideband.
Is there a trick to doing this part of the Alignment?
I am about 1 day away from putting it on the air, but I want it to sound
good when I do.
I don't want some grumpy old guy, that has no life anyway, getting on me
for a dirty signal.
BTW, I have all my crystals within 1 kc of each other, so when I
change Bands, I am always within 1 kc of the dial reading.
I guess I can't ask for much better then that. ( Actually all bands are
dead on within a few cycles except 10 meters is off by 1 kc, maybe a few
cycles more)
All Bands are equal on output power with the set and forget controls
except 10 meters. It reads a bit lower then the other bands.
All Bands on AM show about 25 watts, the way I have it set, but 10
meters only shows about 10 Watts.
CW, I have 100 watts output on all Bands except 10 and without changing
any adjustments it shows about 40. I can turn up the CW carrier to get
it up there, but I would like all bands to be equal, or pretty darn
close without changing the set and forget controls, which they are..
except 10. LOL
thanks,
Gordon
