Darrel & Gordon,

First off, nice job on the 100V Gordon. I have a 200V here in line for a
restoration once I get done with the 20A I'm currently working on. Time is
limited at this QTH so progress has been slow. I started with complete junk.
I bought two 20A's and a BC-458 VFO at a hamfest for $25 dollars. You can
only imagine what they looked like! I believe that I have a couple of
pictures up on my QRZ page. The 20A is nearing completion as I write this
and I should post some pictures to the group when finished. I still have the
458 vfo and the MM2 scope to do however.

I spent hours upon hours polishing my chassis with a naval jelly treatment
and plain old Wenol metal polish. What did you use?

Darrell, the VFO mechanism (ball drive) does get sticky. My 200V is almost
totally bound up. I have all the parts here ready and waiting for the
rebuild. Check out Bob Sullivan's (W0YVA) web page for very good detailed
instructions on the rebuild.

WE WANT NARRATION!

Beautiful work on the chassis.

I'm hoping to procure a 100V and have been warned about the dial drive, but
not given specifics.

Is it a ball drive or what does generally fail in there?
