[Central-Electronics] CE-100V Xtal Oscillator

Hi Stu,

This restoration has been a long time in coming. I started back in 1977 but life somehow got in the way ...

Yes I have been referring to Nick site. I was in the process of installing the xtal osc part of his 160M kit when I noted the 10M osc issue.

I was unable to get any output as I tuned the 10M Xtal Osc coil. Next steps are to check the xtal and the quality of the connections
of the switch ,xtal socket ,etc.

Thanks for your suggestions,

Joe

Hello Joe,

Glad to hear that another 100V will soon be back on the air! I presume that you are following the excellent restoration advice presented on K5EF's CE site. Doing all of the things that Nick suggests will produce a high probability of success.

As to your missing 10M HF oscillator output, the likely problems are (1) a defective crystal (or poor integrity of the seating in its socket) and (2) maladjustment of the 10M coil to just past the peak (at which point oscillation ceases), Following your verification that (1) and (2) are not the source of the loss of oscillation, the next choice is perhaps corrosion and resulting poor conductivity of the bandswitch contacts in the 10M HF oscillator section.

Good luck with your restoration and please keep us informed as to your progress..
