[Central-Electronics] 600L Question

Good suggestion, Jim!

I think mine had a piece of Bakelite sheet stock cut to size, and stuffed
into the same relay. Sort of a deluxe relay jammer (grin).

George,

I forgot about that 500 uf capacitor. Yep I replaced it also! I did
not pull the selenium out though, as I recall it was a bugger to get at.

Another thing I forgot to mention was the overload circuit. That relay
in mine was wedged with a Popsicle stick so it would not trip!! Removing
the stick worked, but I had the occasional trip on a SSB voice peak. I
dealt with it by placing a capacitor across the overload relay coil (+
side at ground). I did not take notes, so I do not recall what I put in
there. As a guess, it was 1000 uf at 25v. The idea is to make the over
current fault be more of a time averaged trip point as opposed to a peak
current trip point. Maybe not ideal, but still better than the Popsicle
stick defeat of the overload circuit. :-)
