Don't have the details in front of me, but it was a common mod to
remove that entire module (just unplug it) and replace it with an
octal tube base with components wired in place. I have one sitting at
home, actually two different bases to replace two different modules,
so I can't recall which is which. One has caps, the other has diodes.
Pretty sure it's the one with diodes.
To repair my 200V originally, I bought a pair of replacement cells
from a camera shop where I was working at the time, SR-44 Silver Oxide
types that were a cross ref./direct swap. Soldered them in place just
to keep the thing stock. Takes a lot of heat. Most longtime users
prefer the mod as it removes the potential for audio problems caused
by that stage.
Hope this helps -
