[Central-Electronics] Help needed on CE-200V fine tuning dial

I am the new proud owner of a CE-200V xmtr.
There is some work that needs to be done on this rig and as I go through it I hope that there are fellow hams on this list that can answer my questions.
My first question concerns the vfo fine tuning mechanism.
I have the vfo working quite smoothly now, it was very lumpy when I got it and I found a way to smooth it out without taking the bearing assembly apart that I would be happy to share with anyone neediing this info.
Here is my current proplem.
When I rotate the vfo fine tuning knob the silver main tunig knob rotates as well and the round kc scale does not move.
If I hold the coarse tuning knob to keep it from rotating while I turn the black fine tune knob then the circular kc dial does rotate. I have determined that the three point, sping loaded braking mechanism inside the silver knob is probably not doing it's job. I have slightly bent the three spings to apply a little more pressur but this did not help. The three rubber pads on the springs seem to be in good shape.
Does anyone have a cure for this problem.
I am trying to get this baby on the air.
Any help will be appreciated.
