[Central-Electronics] 200V on AM

Hi Joe:

Many years ago, I met a local ham on the air. He was using a KWS-1 and sounded outstanding. Later, he purchased a 100V and sounded outstanding. Best audio quality I ever heard. About 6 months later, I met him in person and he was a short bald guy with an outstanding voice.

He probably could have been using almost any rig and would have sounded great - but I always associate the 100V with excellent audio. Use one of your linear amps to boost the power level and it will be louder than the 32V.

On the other hand, Bob Dylan will sound bad on almost any rig.

73, Colin K7FM

>I have the chance to use a Collins 32V-3 for AM or a 200V for vintage SSB plus AM. Leaning toward the 200V. Would appreciate comments from those who have used their 100/200V's on AM as to audio quality and any other tidbits you care to pass on.
