[Central-Electronics] Curious CE PA on eBay

Well, this one brought a few CE fans out of the woodwork!!! Thanks for all
the on and off reflector replies. The general consensus of the group agrees
that it's a home brew box, but one that's well done, and probably based on a
P&H design.

Jim, WD5JKO, reminded me that CE did have a prototype PA that was never
sold. If memory serves, that would have been the 2500L, a BIG version of the
600L. Wow, can you imagine what that might have been like!!!

Once the bidding is over, I'll try to convince the winner to give us a tour
of the insides. At least we'll know for sure!

73 all & thanks

Looks like it followed the front panel layout of the P&H LA-400-C (later
version). However the P&H didn't have a red pilot lamp on the left; P&H
was 80-10 meters (band positions followed a 180 degree arc). This one
looks like it is 160-10 meters; band positions follow a 320 or 340 degree
arc). Meter styles are also different. Large knobs on this model are
similar to the ones used on the LA-400. Lettering looks like the
dry-transfer rub-on kind from DATAK. LA-400C had 4 1625's or optional
837's. However, CE used a similar styled box for its 10 and 20A series
and also similar styled knobs.
