Hello everyone. I am brand new to this list. I will be restoring a CE100V
that has been sitting in a closet for about 40 years; used it when I was
kid. Want to do a good job so am asking for advice. The 100V is in very
good condition, considering its age and ignoring the dust, and is unmodified
in any way. The 100V serial number is E 166. I have the following
literature:
"Instruction Manual Model 100V Exciter-Transmitter", P215, 7-15-59.
"Mixer Change", 68.1, 12/14/60
"Procedure to Modify Model 100V for Improved Suppression of Unwanted Mixer
Products", February 1961.
Large fold-out schematic (feels rather delicate), 7-17-59.
I am an EE specializing in RF and have access to a lab. The following
problems are evident:
1. VCO tuning knob is extremely stiff; I assume the lubricant has
deteriorated.
2. Fan is difficult to turn; I also assume the lubricant has deteriorated.
3. Batteries in limiter are corroded.
4. Meter and frequency dials are darkened in color.
Have not applied power to it yet. Does the literature I have provide enough
info to do a complete alignment? Where do I start?
