Hi All:
I need to replace the power supply caps in my 100V. Two issues have
surfaced: where to get suitable replacements for the 250 uF 450V cans, and
how to replace them. After much web searcing I've come to the conclusion
that I'm not going to find twist-lock can replacements; the closest I've
been able to come are 270 uF snap-in cans that have the right values, but
present a mounting problem (I'll have to somehow mount them, probably using
capacitor clamps and drilling some holes, if I can fit the clamps in the
available space). To those of you who have replaced your caps: what did you
use for replacements, where did you buy them and how did you mount them?
Second, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to replace the caps without
significant disassembly of the radio in order to remove the chokes that
block the capacitor connections under the chassis. Can anyone suggest a
disassembly procedure for removing the caps? Any help would be appreciated.

Jim
