Thanks for your input Gene,
I will say that all your list I have also had and some I still do including
an R-388A (j-4) that I have with a PD-1 aftermarket SSB converter going into
a nice Stromberg C amp and then to an R-42 speaker. I stand firm on my
selection of the 390 and matching TMC converter for SSB sound. Will take my
28 and SX-42 for all the AM stuff out there...Guess it is all in the ears.
Your lucky to have your GPR-90 setttle down in three hours or so. Mine takes
a day. Darn crummy bandswitch design for a company that could build a fine
transmitter, hence the ones still being used at WWV....just a thought..paul
