does not work any better than the bfo....The CE/SS needs a slower AGC or it overloads . Most old BA rigs AGC is too fast including the 390A. I know I tried this setup a few years back. Get a PD-1 or CV-1758 if you can find one, or do the SSB mod to the 390A.........just my opinion......Good luck.....p
