Whew! It's a rare ham who is clever enough and brave enough to modify a
100V. The 100V is not a trivial piece of engineering.
Are you sure the wires are coming out of an IF can and not out of the Audio
Limiter? It was common to outboard the batteries. In fact my 100V had a
battery holder installed on the outside of the audio limiter by Central
Electronics themselves. Those outboard batteries leaked all over the
chassis, unfortunately.

<< Hi Paul,
Great, whenever you can get to it....I'm not elbows deep into the 600L yet
but hope to in the near future....
Incidentally, I picked up this 100V on Ebay, even made a rather long trip to
pick it up because I didn't want to trust UPS....It has something in it that
looks like a modification, something added with wires coming out of one of
the I.F> cans I believe....Wonder what it can be????
My original 100V I got about 1960 2nd handed, used it about 10 or 12 years
before it gave up the ghost and I did what I usually do: pushed it aside,
got my old 20A out and got back on the air....first thing I knew, days turned
into weeks, weeks into months and before I knew it, a year had gone by....I
should have stayed off the air and put in the "on-the-air" time in trouble
shooting the 100V instead of spending so much "non-productive" time on the
air....
