The Charles County Chief of Emergency Management, has asked the local amateur radio community to prepare for severe weather. Knowing full well that we are always in that posture, he asked that I issue a quick reminder. The County Government Communications resources are, of course, going to be their primary. I am sure we will be asked to supplement theirs as needed. Take care of your families first and check your kits for deployment should the call to activate be received. As you all know, the storm tracking models are ever changing and being updated. Stay tuned to local media outlets and NWS resources for the latest information and forecasts.

The local 2 meter frequency of 146.535 simplex has worked well for us in the past during such events. Please keep watch on that frequency for any activity. I believe I have everyone's contact information at this time. If it has changed recently please send an update to my email address pmtackish at comcast.net. My cell number remains the same 240-216-6035. I'll be sure to pass along any information that is forwarded to me should our services be requested.

73,

Mike KA3GRW
