[CC-ARES-RACES] April 12, 2012 MEMA RACES Exercise

All RACES members; The Charles County Department of Emergency Services will be practicing the Continuity Of Operation Plan (COOP), on April 12, 2012. The exercise will start at 0900 and conclude around 1600 hours.  They have decided to test their ability to relocate the EOC under simulated conditions.  They want to see how well things work once relocated.  Testing of auxiliary systems to assess communication infrastructure reliability will also take place.  Our RACES tasking is to establish contact with MEMA as we normally do, then transition to a mobile application, while maintaining communications.  Back-up telephone systems will be tested also during this planned exercise. Even as of this morning, some of the planning remains fluid at the MEMA level.  I realize an exercise during the day may conflict with many of you. If you can participate please let me know. Plan to use 146.535 for local amateur radio communications.
