Good Morning to All,
I am anxious to dig in at the Hospital this morning, and it appears that
three of us will be on site.....Lee, Sharon and Michelle. N3YRZ will meet
us at the Facility. Among us, we should be able to handle affairs and do
a reasonable evaluation of what we have at this location. I have decided
to forego meeting at PCP at 0730. In the event you will assist our
efforts this morning, my intentions are to go directly the Hospital at
about 0845 and park in the front lot (closest to Charles Street). Mr.
Gary Hall will greet us at the front desk.
Again, we may arrive there and find a length of coax or hardline hanging
without a connector, or nothing at all. So it is possible that I may have
to return at some other date/time, and the cooperation of the Hospital
staff is such that we should have an 'open door' with a simple phone
call.
I intend to review the following:
Location of communication room.
Power availability (is standby electrical power available to this area?)
Location of antenna(s) for HF, VHF/UHF
RF safety evaluation (assumptions include max 100w HF and 50w VHF/UHF)
Type of coax connectors (goal is standard UHF or pl259)
On site RF interference.
Grounding capability.
We will take photographs and include in our review. If you wish copies,
let me know. As reflector is not capable of attachments, I will be happy
to send them to you directly. Otherwise, report should be included within
an emergency plan.
More Fun With Radio (with an obvious and valuable cause).
