Greetings CCARC Members,
Resulting from our recent CCARC Membership Meeting was input from
everyone in attendance as to suggestions for upcoming events and
activities. This was by no means a meeting that only heard the voice of
our President. It was great to see and hear everyone grabbing the
microphone and offering input. If anything, it certainly is indicative of
interested and active members.
Not that I am the Club's official spokesperson, but it is worthy
of spreading the word that President Rob's unbelievably long and detailed
listing of CCARC activities for 2006 was one that left us all surprised
by the many and varied activities that kept us busy and smiling. In case
you did not receive a copy, Rob will have the listing posted
electronically. Rob's intention for this list was not for distribution,
but more as a working tool for him as he presides over CCARC and while
discussing plans and activities for 2007. But once he began creating the
list, and then went on to multiple pages, he just had to share the
results in printed form. Great job, Rob and congratulations CCARC for an
exciting year of amateur radio activities.
One of the activities discussed among our group was some form of
routine HF activity. As suggested by Bob (KB3KOW), we plan to follow our
next Tuesday evening net with some 10 meter activity. Once we close the
Membership net, we will switch over to 28400. Once the frequency is
confirmed available, we will hope for some successful contacts among us.
In the past, these short distances have either been successful, or our
signals just leap over and end up a hop or two away. With the cycle
being at the bottom of the barrel, let's hope for some reasonable
line-of-sight. Not too long ago, Bob (KOW) and I did some digital 10m
quite successfully. Anybody interested in giving a try, please chime in
after Tuesday's net.
Finally, the topic of our CCARC Clubhouse was discussed at our
meeting, and some very good suggestions and following action items
resulted. More on that to follow.
73,
Lee
