Hello Lee and the Gang,

The Club operation at Cobb Island and Field Day are going to be a lot of
fun! I agree with Lee, we need to get our act together now. All of us =
need
to commit now in order to make it all happen. Lee has very graciously
offered to organize the events with our help. That's where all of the =
club
members come in. We need to let Lee know what we can collectively offer. =
The
more members letting Lee know now, the bigger and better the planned
operation. Join in the fun! Please drop Lee an email and let him know =
you
are willing to commit supplies and/or time to make the events happen. No
offer is too small.

Debbie and I can supply a Kenwood TS-850 HF Transceiver with a power =
supply,
power strip, 1 ea 12'X 12' push up canopy, Operating table, chairs,
microphone, Rigblaster and a laptop computer for PSK-31/SSB operations.

I have a few section of Rohn 55 lying around that we could erect. (A bit
heavy. Hi)

Many thanks to Lee for taking on the task of organizing these club =
events!
Let's do our part!

Dust off those COBB webs (feeble attempt at levity) and put on those
thinking caps......dig out that listing of materials, good, equipment
rigs, etc for these noted events and think of what you may offer for the
cause. I know that we all typically come together at the last minute
anyhow, with trucks and vans full of gear, and often more than we can
use. It is our nature to react quickly. Just so that we don't overlook
a minor tidbit which may result in a major omission from our events,
please send me a note or two of what you plan to bring. Or, if you =
think
of something I haven't, throw it on the table. For instance:

Plan a Field Day contingency in the event the National Guard cannot
furnish a tent, which is the usual GP small or medium. I plan to meet
with Sgt. Hemsley on Tuesday evening with hopes of an affirmative.
However, they have been a bit busier this year than the past, so unsure
as of this writing.

What do you think about tower erection for Field Day? May be a good op
to have some fun with that. Does anyone have a few sections and gin to
help out? It is a great chance to see what we have and how efficiently
and effectively we can get it up on short notice.

Happy Mother's Day. Looking forward to hearing from the group.
