Hello All,
Earlier today, I was busily working here in the shack, and my Echolink
chimed up. Surprised as I was, it was KB3GFJ, Brian Hummel, stationed in
Keflavik, Iceland. If you recall, Brian joined our Club a year or so
back, and participated in several of our Club Nets. Fact is, he quickly
jumped in and took on the Net Control functions quite admirably. He
mentioned to me at that time that his tour to Iceland would only be for a
year, and that he will be back to his family in Waldorf, and back to
CCARC. Sure enough, he is going to return to our area in April, and
plans to make the May meeting. In the interim, he wants to send me a
membership application and dues so that he can hit the ground running.
Further, he is anxious to participate in our Field Day 2003, and possibly
our Cobb Island Day activities (I am still attempting to get info on that
one). He remembers us all and sends good wishes to everyone. He is
doing quite well and wants to focus on an upgrade to General and also he
wants to work the sats.
Look for Brian on Echolink, and I am sure he would enjoy hearing from the
CCARC folks. I was very pleased to hear from him.
Regards,
