Generally local governments hold classroom sessions for their folks. Fire/Police depts and such. Calvert has notified us of classes with empty seats but those are usually few and far between. FEMA's Independent Study program is going to be your best bet for getting them done quicker and more in line with your schedule. They are PowerPoint style and usually don't take more than a couple hours to complete. Nothing in any of them is difficult or requires "homework" or any kind of "graded assignments".
The ARRL courses are all online and can take longer.
If you haven't gotten set up with either, I can help you at the meeting Thursday or we can figure out a time and date to meet.
Let me know if this helps.

On The Air is the ARRL magazines for new hams. The November issue has a
short write-up on ICS. A little brief but perhaps of interest for those
interested in EmComm. The pages are attached and could be useful to
acquaint people to ARES/RACES.
