*BLUF: A severe (G4) Geomagnetic Storm Watch has been issued for the
evening of Friday, May 10, 2024. There have been at least seven
earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) observed, which are expected
to reach us as early as midday on Friday, May 10, 2024 or early on May 11,
and persist until Sunday, May 12, 2024.*

*Impacts: While it is unlikely, there is a potential for disruption to
communications, transportation, and energy systems.*

*For more information, please refer to the attached briefing prepared by
the MDEM Risk Analyst Team in collaboration with the Maryland Energy
Administration.*
