All,

I've not received any objections for switching our upcoming net from Dec 19 to Dec 18, 7pm. Several members said the 18th is actually better for them. So we will hold our net on Wednesday, Dec 18 at 7PM.

If anyone needs some practice with digital modes prior to the net, let me know. Our K3CAL-1 digipeater on 145.070 can always be used to check out your packet setup by connecting to yourself as shown below. Once connected, anything you type would be sent back to you via the digipeater. The example below uses my callsign...use yours instead. Caps are what you enter. Lower case is an explanation.

Hello Calvert AUXCOMM members and email reflector members.

Rather than holding our usual in-person meeting this month, we'll have a net instead on Dec 18, 7pm on the 146.985 repeater. At the end of the net I'd like members to practice using MT63-2000L, using the repeater for increased coverage.

If you're not familiar with MT63, it's a digital mode using a sound card interface like a SignaLink. The MT63 software is part of the fldigi software package available at http://www.w1hkj.com/ or https://sourceforge.net/projects/fldigi/

Time and interest permitting, we may also try some Winlink peer-to-peer using our digipeater on 145.070 MHz.

Mike, N1JMC, has recently offered to help with digital modes and I entourage you to try. Our digipeater can be used at any time for packet-based digital modes like Winlink or plain old AX25 packet. The CARA repeater can be used for some of the sound card modes like MT63 on a non-interfering bases (i.e. not during Monday nets or a Skywarn or AUXCOMM activation).
