Shawn,
Thanks for the update.
About ready to send out a 2nd Draft, not a final.
KB3RAN sent me a note earlier stating he will run a Team and be the APRS driver.  Are N3AE, KC3WRX, W3PQS part of his Team or are the three you have listed a second Team minus KB3RAN?? Just a wee bit confusing.
The 'standard' APRS ssid has been '-9' in the past, as I do, but not cast in stone. If using anything other than -9, we need to let the Trackers know what it is.
Thanks.

The SET is Saturday, Oct 7th from 9am to 3PM.  So far I have the participants listed below.  We need at least four more operators so I've added the K3CAL email reflector to this call.

N3AE
KC3WRX
W3PQS
KB3RAN

Note that the attached plan is based on 3-person teams in vehicles equipped with APRS..... a driver, a passenger to attend to the APRS and local radio communications, and the 3rd person to assist in locating the geodetic marker.  Nominally, the driver stays with the vehicle.  That's the direction we've been given and following ICS command protocols, that's what we will do.

I'd like our SET participants to organize their 3-person teams rather than having me do it, so talk it up with other operators and let me know the team membership.  Hopefully we can have at least two teams, one covering south county and the other north county.

I WILL NEED THE CALLSIGNS THAT WILL BE USED ON APRS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Please read the attached plan for the information required on each marker inspected.  That info can be relayed to Net Control (N3AE) who will be at the EOC and using our repeater system and/or simplex on 146.595 (Calvert Simplex #2, Channel 9 in our June 2023 ICS-205).  Please use the URL in the attached plan to look at available markers and pick targets that look like they are reachable (i.e. on public property or otherwise safely approached.  Some sort of hand held GPS will be needed (cell phone with GPS, hiking GPS, etc).  Photos can be relayed to net control via cellphone message or if you're really game, as an attachment to a Winlink message if you keep the file size down below 50K (for a fast mode like VARA FM....smaller for Packet Winlink).    Larger file (max 120K OK via Telnet).  Winlink Express includes a function to resize attachments like photos.  See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=886P6ygHm00

Our September 20 AUXCOMM meeting will be devoted to finalizing our SET plans.

tnx
