We're going to skip our in-person meeting this month.  Instead, the plan for Dec 20 (3rd Wednesday) is to practice some digital modes including MT63 and Winlink peer-to-peer.  The fun will begin at 07:30pm local.
 
We'll use the 146.985 repeater for coordination.  Packet Winlink P2P will use the K3CAL-1 digipeater in Prince Frederick, frequency 145.070 MHz.  Suggest seeing if you can reach that digi by running straight AX-25 packet using a terminal program of your choice.  Just try connecting to yourself.  Example connect string:   c n3ae v k3cal-1         If a successful connection is made, anything you type will be sent back to you after you hit the Enter/Return key on your keyboard.
 
MT63 practice will likely be on 10M and also over the 146.985/444.950 voice repeater system.  MT63-1000L is the mode for 10M. On 2M and 70cm we can use MT63-2000L.    After the new FCC rules kick in early next year, we can use any digital mode with a bandwidth of 2.8KHz or less on most HF frequencies.
 
If anyone is equipped to run VARA FM, we might try that too.
 
Homework Question:   Will VARA FM work P2P via a 2M or 70cm voice repeater?
