All,

My home station is still set to receive packet P2P messages on 145.750 MHz. So far, no messages have been received. If you tried and failed, please let me know.

I'll keep my station on between about 9am and 9pm. Don't forget to use the K3CAL-1 digipeater if you are out of simplex range.

Alternatively, send me a message though the Winlink system via a gateway. I'll check for any messages on the Winlink common message server once a day.

For recurring Winlink practice, consider participating in "Winlink Wednesday." See this link https://winlinkwednesday.net/

Also, our MDC ARES section sponsors a Winlink Check-In once a month on the second Tuesday. Instructions below for last week's check-in.

Don't forget this Wednesday meeting (7pm at Harriet Brown). Bring your Winlink problems and equipment.

Subject: REMINDER: MDC Section Winlink Check-in Exercise, Tues 8 AUG 2023

Please remember to send your monthly MDC Section Winlink Check-in message(s) on Tuesday, AUGUST 8, 2023. Participants are asked to use the Winlink Check In template found in MAPPING-GIS FORMS. A standard text message will also be accepted, but the originator's location will not show up on the participation map that is created. For help with the Winlink Check-in template check out the following link: https://srcares.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/srcares-201_winlinkcheckin-1.pdf

Place the following information in the Comments section of the Check-in form, or in a text message, using comma separated format: Callsign, First-name, City or Town, County, State, Session Type. For example: KD3JA, James, Lanham, Prince George's, MD, Vara HF.

The following is a list of the Winlink session types that may be used: 1.Telnet, 2. Packet, 3. Ardop, 4. Vara HF, 5. Vara FM, and 6. Vara HF Radio-Only. Multiple check-ins using different session types is encouraged. There is no need to include 'Winlink' in the session type, as all of the specified session types are Winlink.

Please note: messages are to be sent to tactical callsign MDCWINLINK-1, except in the case of VARA HF Radio-Only which must be addressed to N3XL. (Tactical callsigns will not work for Radio-Only messages.)

Bill N3XL, MDCWINLINK-1
