[CALV-AUXCOMM] More Info on April 9th Hospital Drill & Volunteer Request

All,

Just received some additional details on the Region V Hospital exercise on April 9th.  This will be a short "field day" kind of operation and a good chance to see and practice some emergency communications skills.

Timing:
Start setup at 0800, Saturday, April 9th
On the air at 1000
Exercise over by 1200

Our location:
We will set up in the grass area behind the Medical Arts building adjacent to the CalvertHealth Medical Center in Prince Frederick.  See the attached Google Map screen shot.  We have the hospital's permission.

Areas Participating:
Calvert County
Charles County
Montgomery County
Prince George County
St Mary's County

Objectives:
1.  Relay Winlink traffic via peer-to-peer on HF using either ADROP or VARA modems.   The Central Maryland Repeater Group's 440MHz repeater system will be used to coordinate HF P2P frequencies.  N3AWP will be the net controller.  Info on the CMRG link system is at http://www.n3st.net/index_files/CMRG_Repeaters.htm
2.  Send a Winllink position report via an HF gateway to the MDC Section Emergency Coordinator (WB3KAS)

Equipment Planned:
I'll bring my FT-897, SignaLink, a laptop with Winlink Express, a 40M/80M NVIS antenna and a 2m/70cm go-kit.

Equipment Still Needed (please let me know if you can supply)
1.  Small quiet generator like a Honda 2000 or a known-good and charged 12v deep cycle marine battery.
2.  A vehicle with a mobile rig installed that has APRS functionality and running during the exercise
3.  A table (30"x72" or similar)
4.  An omni 2m/70cm vertical, mast mounted, with suitable coax, for reaching the 440MHz net.

So far I have the following operators planning on participating.   I need one volunteer to step up as my backup (that means filling in with your gear and antennas if necessary).
