All,

I will attempt to send out monthly meeting minutes this year,  Here's the summary of our January 2020 meeting.

Minutes of Jan 21, 2020 Calvert AUXCOMM Meeting

The focus of the meeting was to plan some exercises for the group to do this spring. Several ideas were proposed:

1. Participate in NVIS day, Saturday April 25th. Info at http://arrl-ohio.org/SEC/ Info towards the bottom of the page. But rather than participating as a group from one location, spread across the county and try to make NVIS contacts between ourselves as well as the Ohio stations that sponsor this exercise. A HF rig (100w max) and a good 40M/80M NVIS antenna is needed. A low-to-the-ground full size 40M or 80M dipole will work. Alternatively, a more compact antenna design can be found at http://arrl-ohio.org/SEC/nvis/Modified%20AS-2259%20NVIS%20Antenna.pdf  An antenna tuner is still needed with this design.

2. As an experiment, try 6M FM and SSB from the hospital roof to see what coverage we might have from that location on 6M. Would need to have several mobile stations with 6M to rove the county.

3. Re-start an AUXCOMM net. We agreed to hold a net on the 3rd Wednesday of the month on 10M SSB. Frequency of 28.350 MHz USB. The first net will be on February 19th.
