Okay, I have my radio on and TNC hooked up. Is the frequency 145.750? I can't get any response to my transceiver when I open a session in Packet WinLink. If anyone is available to call me to get this working again, do so. 443-440-1736 I'm using a Yeasu FT2900 2 meter radio and a MFJ1270X TNC-X Packet Controller on 147.750. Latest version of WinLink 1.5.19.0 I'm not sure what to put in the connection blocks. I am using digipeater and K3CAL-10. Is there a via condition to be put in?

Subject: [CALV-AUXCOMM] Winlink Exercise Kickoff
All,
I've started the Winlink round-robin practice exercise by sending a message to the first callsign on the list below.
When you pick up your message from a Winlink gateway, add a few comments and forward it on to the next callsign on the list. Please add N3AE to the Cc line so I can track progress.
You can access a Winlink gateway by either VHF/UHF packet or on HF using a WINMOR session in RMS Express. TELNET acceptable as a last resort.
KB3FWW-10 on 145.070 MHz is a local gateway that many might be able to hit direct. Or use our K3CAL-1 digipeater on 145.750 MHz to reach one of the gateways on that frequency. The K3CAL-10 digipeater is currently down.
This is not a race to see how quickly the loop can be completed. Just access a gateway when you have time and if you get your message, forward it on. AB3LE is near the bottom of the list since Charlie is still getting some gear together to support the exercise.
If you're having difficulties and need help, email or call me. Please also read the note at the bottom of this email on an annoying RMS Express behavior. On-line help for Winlink available at:

ONE HELPFUL NOTE ON an annoying behavior in RMS Express:
Winlink Express has a Contacts list (i.e. address book). You can find it by clicking on Settings and then Contacts. If you already had an entry in the Name column of the Contacts list of say N3AE for example, with my Comcast email address in the Contacts list E-mail column, RMS Express will automatically stick my Comcast email as the addressee if you enter just my callsign in the message address To line or Cc line. So if you actually intended to send a message to a Winlink address (which is what we want to do in this exercise), this is NOT what you want.
My recommendation is to change your contacts list to distinguish between non-Winlink email addresses and Winlink addresses associated with the same callsign. For example, have TWO entries in your contact list like shown below (the underscore is necessary):
Name Email
N3AE N3AE mailto:N3AE at WINLINK.org
N3AE_Email N3AE at COMCAST.NET mailto:N3AE at COMCAST.NET
That way, when you enter just a callsign in the address list, Winlink Express will default to the station's Winlink system address and not the station's normal internet provider email. But entering N3AE_Email in the To or Cc line will force RMS Express to use the internet provider email. If someone has a more elegant solution, please let me know.
If you don't have any entries in your RMS Express Contact list, you don't have to worry about this.
