SCF Human Services,
MEMA hosted a weather call this morning.
The main concerns are:
- Snow turning into freezing rain throughout today in western and central Maryland.
- Wind gusts of 30-40 miles an hour with potential for power outages Sunday afternoon and evening throughout the state.
- Bitter cold/dangerously cold temperatures Sunday and Monday throughout the state.
During the call, many jurisdictions mentioned that they have planned to open additional cold weather shelters and warming centers.
Please remain prepared to support any local requests for resource support.
MEMA is raising their activation level to enhanced this evening. There is an event set up in WebEOC to monitor the winter storm.
SCF Human Services is not activated at this time. MEMA is not planning any addition statewide weather calls for this event.
MEMA provided the following link - For current winter weather products see https://www.weather.gov/lwx/winter https://www.weather.gov/lwx/winter
