Shawn,
I plan to be at the KB3TGF site in the Drum Point EOC on Oct 7 morning. I am working with Dave on this. We can hit the repeater hopefully with no problem on 2 meters (Mt. Hope). The only 440 I have in the EOC is an HT that I can hook up to the tower at Drum Point EOC, limited to 5 watts. Simplex, as I mentioned may be a real problem, however, the tower might reach Prince Frederick on simplex.
I'll keep you posted.

All,
See Jim's request below for mobile with APRS and Winlink. If anyone can volunteer (driver + Winlink Packet operator) please let Jim know and cc me. wb3kas at aol.com
I'll be forwarding traffic on HF Winlink so unable to go over to the eastern shore.
BREAK-BREAK
For those unable to go over to the eastern shore on Oct 7th, how about participating in a "Mini-SET" right here in Calvert County? I'd like to have operators at:
EOC
Health Department
Huntingtown High School parking lot
Drum Point
We would check communications capabilities between these sites using both CARA repeaters and simplex. Voice and Winlink Packet. Start at around 9am for a few hours.
Since we will already have the Health Department manned Thursday evening, Oct 5th, there may be an option to conduct our mini-SET on the 5th rather than the 7th.
Thoughts?
Shawn

Subject: 2017 MDC Section SET Update
The 2017 MDC Section SET Planning Meeting was held September 9, 2017 and
graciously hosted by Frank, N3SEO, EC Anne Arundel County. Thirty one
hams from around the state attended with a very enthusiastic attitude.
Many thanks Frank and your ARES Team for hosting.
The SET will take place October 7 on the Eastern Shore between 0900-1500
supporting a Hurricane Elmer direct hit on Ocean City. We plan the
following SET components running during the event: APRS, Fox Hunting a
lost child, message traffic for hospital medical resupply request, chase
down NOAA river level gauges, and a few more. Should be fun. Details in
a forthcoming SET Plan.
While we have identified nine fixed stations for the SET, we are
particularly in need of a mobile APRS plus Winlink Packet team to
support the event. A driver with APRS and a second ham dedicated to
the Winlink packet operations. Not having enough SET radio operators, we
need this requirement to survey satellite health and hospital dept.
locations (three know at the present time) and two river level gauges
and report data to a local command post.
If you have the desire to support your Section SET this year and can
muster up the required team, please let us know the team details and
send an email to WB3KAS at arrl.net as soon as possible so we can properly
write the required injects.
Thank you.
