Hi Jim,
I plan on trying to get into the 146.985 simplex on Thursday on my way to 
the club meeting.
I will start at my house and continue  to try at several locations coming 
down the road including the High School.
I will leave my house at about 5:30 pm.
Looking forward to being of some help.

If none can do Huntingtown HS, I can. Also I can move around in North County 
and try simplex voice from different locations, that may be County exit 
routes, North Beach FD; Owings rt2/260; rt4/ 260; Dunkirk rt/4; rt2/rt4; 
Huntingtown HS.Can also try packet winlink email from those locations 
through K3CAL-1 and -10 digipeaters. That is if I can get in Health 
Department later than 5pm? If I can not get in, I can go to Mexico 
Restaurant and guard the Coronia on aprs tracking.

Have to look at Map but I find it unusual that I can connect fairly reliable 
from my house, K3uga to wb3kas-10  v k3cal-10 vk3cal-1.  Can not connect 
anymore from k3cal-1 direct to Jim anymore. Have 100% reliable connect k3uga 
to ka3pox-10 v k3cal-1. Have to re make check list for HF winmor seem to be 
missing something, wont transmit, found connection on screen. Activity last 
night 40 meters dead, but should still transmit, maybe wrong mode set.

As far as our own Calvert County "mini-SET" goes, I propose we limit that 
activity to this Thursday evening when folks traveling to the monthly CARA 
meeting can try to work us at the Calvert Health Department on 146.58 
simplex.   Try us from your QTH before you leave the driveway and again 
along your way.  Hoping we can map out the simplex coverage from the health 
department (which is adjacent to Calvert Memorial Hospital).


Looking for one mobile to try to work us from Huntingtown High School 
parking lot.  Also from Main Street in Prince Frederick in front of the 
courthouse (EOC) if anyone is headed that way.


We plan to activate the Health Department station around 5PM and will 
monitor 146.58 until 7:30PM when we have to switch over to the 440 link 
system up north to participate in the quarterly hospital drill.


If you are interested in heading over to the eastern shore to participate in 
the SET on Oct 7th, please contact Jim Montgomery to see if an open
