-------------- next part --------------
Here is the original plan that was developed for this simple, but useful portable 80/40 meter antenna. The coils could be our next workshop project???
It might be fun to have a couple of these bad boys for future use, as we don't seem to know where all the antennas are now! The pvc pipe forms are easy to get, the wire is easy, the hardware is easy.
Surplus fiberglass tent poles (4@ < 4ft ) with a baseplate is easy to find at any local show or ebay.
The problem I see is the footprint of the wires would be about An 85 ft diameter circle......kinda large open area. I know if you increase the height of the mast to > 30 feet its harder to raise and support, and it changes the angle, maybe Shawn could look at that with the antenna modeling program? Smaller footprint might make easier placement? But 30 ft may be too tall. Somewhere in my collections of stuff I have a surplus army antenna mast field kit for NVIS antenna, these are tapered poles that go together and need guying, but I think it approaches 26-30 ft tall.
