To All 2015 ARRL MDC SET Players
It is with deep regret that I inform all of you of the 2015 MDC SET
cancellation. I put up a post asking for activation status of Section
counties and received, as of this writing, six counties in some degree of
activation through Tuesday. By coincidence, these counties had most of the
water gauges posted in the SET Plan. To avoid pulling assets away from county
support, I feel it is best we support the needs of our counties an neighboring
counties as well if requested. Please pass this far and wide as you can
imagine to get the word out.
However, all the planning is not for naught. The MDC SET report I send in
will shift from a Simulated ET to a Real ET. I still would like to hear from
the activated ARES ECs and ROs in a like manner as proposed in the Plan, but
in any way you want to provide it. At this point, I place no restrictions on
how or what you wish to send to me. I am most interested in shelter and
hospital deployments but will take any situation status awareness updates.
Winlink 2000 will be the mode of choice in getting updates across county
lines. No matter where I am or what I am doing, I WILL GET THEM. Send them
to wb3kas[at]Winlink[dot]org with a backup copy to wb3las[at]aol[dot]com
I will be working on seeing if Collington, the PRGE ARES EOC will be available
throughout the storm. Staffing people at this point in time will be my biggest
challenge to date. And I though getting the Plan out would be difficult!!
Friday night at 8pm, I still plan to hold the SET Net. See following
paragraph for access information.

The SET Echolink net will be held on Friday, October 2nd at 8:00 PM on the
Echolink *WASH_DC* node 6154.

Finally I want to thank MONT ARES/ACS for hosting the Pre-Planning meeting in
August and for providing much needed help and assistance along the way. You
have been very helpful in the process. Thank you.
