Shawn,
Good chart, thank you! Looks like LMR400 or RG 213 is the way to go. Dave, (PQS) says he uses LMR 400. Interestingly, the last Tech License Manual lists RG58U with a dB loss per 100 ft at 150 MHz of 4 dB; whereas the chart below gives it a 6.1 (you did mention the Manual seemed low). LMR 400 gets a very low 1.5 dB loss at 150 MHz. The chart below gives RG213 a dB loss of 2.8, whereas the Manual lists its loss at 8 dB at 150 MHz.. The truth may lie in between?!
By the way, I did not mention the other night at the AUXCOMM meeting, although you couldn't see them, we drove five 8 ft rebars extending diagonally down and out in all directions like radials from the base of the antenna tower starting at about a foot below the ground surface before embedding the base of the antenna tower and the rebars in about two feet of concrete below the ground level.
We are thinking of only adding 3 more tower legs to the one already installed in the ground (one of the legs has a split pipe from freezing) which would give us a total antenna height of 44 ft. (6 ft + 30 ft + 8 ft antenna).

Peter,
Here's a good chart on coax loss for the various types of coax.

Good meeting, and thanks for all coming down this far south, particularly Eric who is under some heavy weather.
Hope you are feeling better.
