After discussions with some of the leadership team and reading the NWS's products for the upcoming winter storm, we're going to move into a standby alert starting today at 6PM until Sunday afternoon around 2PM.

At this time, Calvert County is under a High Wind Warning and a Winter Storm Advisory.  Storm Warnings are also in effect for the Chesapeake Bay just off of Calvert County.  Sustained winds of at least 40 MPH, gusts of 58 MPH or higher, are expected.  These winds could cause property damage and tree damage which could lead to electrical, telephone, and Internet outages.

All team members are asked to monitor the 146.985 MHz repeater to the maximum extent possible.  The repeater will continue to be open to normal amateur use and a directed net will only be established if a need exists.

Members should at least monitor the repeater for five minutes at the top of every hour for emergency traffic.  This will allow you to conserve your battery power if you do lose electricity.  Also, if you have APRS capabilities please utilize it.
