[CALV-ARES] What would happen if a massive solar storm hit the Earth

I found this article[0] on to be very interesting.  I wonder what we could do 
to make our radio stations more hardened against such storms.  Probably the 
first thing would be to disconnect antennas when not using the radio.  Any 
others?
