July saw several activities:

First, at the beginning of the month we deployed to support a RACES exercise at Huntingtown High School during a radiological sheltering exercise ( https://ares.k3cal.org/2015/07/05/calvert-radiological-sheltering-exercise/ ) .  Members also deployed to the county health department and communications were tested between there and the shelter located at the high school.  We also established communications with ANAR via the Davidsonville VHF repeater to test connectivity and a local cross-band repeater was used to provide a back up to our normal voice repeater.  Seven members participated for approximately 3.5 hours during the exercise. Next, four members assisted ANAR, providing nearly thirty hours of combined field time, with the Rosaryville Trail Run public service event on one of the hottest days in July.  Operators provided assistance to runners and management during the 50k event and utilized VHF simplex to communicate with the established voice net.  No AAR is available for this event.

Finally, a review of our sheltering exercise was had during our July meeting.  Our August meeting will likely focus on the October SET as well as a local September exercise.
