Yeah, I called you on 2m when I saw the cell coming through.  Wow, sounds like you got quite a bit of rain.  We got nothing up here... not a drop.

Down here in the Lusby area we had a cell go through with heavy rain, some thunder, lightning, and wind (say 25mph) that lasted about 15-20 minutes.  Gutters overflowed and rain was horizontal.  But is was very brief and limited to I guess the very southern part of the County.  The Intellicast radar was very accurate, and the VHF Marine channel WX 2 gave the best radio localized warnings, although one had to listen to everything from Cape Charles to Drum Point.

Well, thankfully (if you didn't want to see thunderstorms) the warm front
didn't get up here in time to add energy to the atmosphere and encourage
supercell development.  Down south, around the NC/VA border, there was a cell
that grew pretty quickly and had enough wind to blow down many trees and a few
power lines, too (http://www.spc.noaa.gov/climo/reports/today.html).

Right now there isn't any severe weather in the forecast for the next seven
days.  Thanks to those who were on the repeater earlier and that tested comms
with other stations.

Eric W4OTN/3
