Hello CALV-ARES Stations;

 

This month's meeting will be Tuesday, May 20,  starting at 7:30 P.M.(L) at
the MHCC.

 

May 2014 Agenda;

 

* Testing of RMS, WL2K and Simplex between MHCC & DPCSEC.  

o   Actually, David/KB3RAN will have some of Drum Point's equipment at his
home which is located very close to the KB3TGF Station.

o   KB3TGF updated equipment and computer software programs in May 

* Status Report of equipment located at EOC, MHCC, CCHD, HHS and DPCESC
needs to be made so we know at any moment what degree of operability exist
at these facilities.  This will be a group discussion item so there is a
comprehensive list of various status situations effecting EmComms.

* 24 & 72-Hour To-Go Kits discussion, a.k.a. bug-out bag(s).

o   Everyone should be using Anderson Power Pole connectors

o   Everyone should have all of their equipment labelled with their name
and/or callsign.

o   General discussion of what one needs to have on hand when deployed for
various time durations and environmental conditions.  

* NVIS Antenna project

o   Do we want to build one as a group project?

* CALV ARES/R.A.C.E.S. Operation Information Binder.  This document can be
found on CAL-ARES yahoo groups.

o   Group discussion 

* Open Discussion

SKYWARN Net Control Class being held on Saturday, May 23 at PRGE EOC,
Landover, MD.
